Adult and third level education needs are services by the Institute of Technology Tralee (see Third Level Access) and Kerry Education Service (, who offer a wide range of full-time and part-time courses throughout the county.  FÁS offers a broad range of IT training from basic computer skills to digital media and a range of apprenticeship courses.

Skills Training : FÁS
FÁS, Ireland’s national training and employment authority, operates a Training Centre in Tralee.  A wide range of training programmes is provided including apprenticeships, information technology, media,digital media, TV and video production, sound engineering, radio media techniques, finance and construction.  Courses can be provided in the Training Centre, in an employer’s premises or at any venue throughout Kerry via approved contracted trainers.  Short duration courses are provided on Saturdays or at evening time over three terms per year.  All courses are certified to international standards.


Substantial Industrial Base

Kerry has established a substantial industrial base with national and international companies. The range of products range from financial services to textiles. These include FEXCO (Killorglin), Kerry Group, Astellas,Temmler, Liebherr (Killarney). There has been a surge in the number of the indigenous businesses resulting in a growing base of small and medium manufacturing and service businesses.
